Aboitiz Construction entered into a two-year partnership with Humble Sustainability to give previously used IT and electronic equipment a second life, reinforcing its commitment to environmental stewardship and innovation.
The partnership was formalized through a signing activity last August, launching a program that ensures retired but functional IT assets are properly refurbished, repurposed, and reintroduced into circulation. Nearly 30 laptops will be given a second life—diverting them from landfills, reducing environmental impact, and transforming technology resources into meaningful contributions to the circular economy.
“This collaboration reflects our strong commitment to sustainability and innovation. “By transforming old technology into new opportunities, we contribute to the circular economy and demonstrate that responsible business practices can drive positive change for our stakeholders and communities,” said Karmine Andrea Ching, Senior Assistant Vice President for Business Transformation of Aboitiz Construction.
The partnership supports Aboitiz Construction’s efforts to responsibly manage e-waste and aligns with the Aboitiz Group’s strategy to embed sustainability across its business units. It also contributes to the country’s e-waste management and circular economy goals, proving that business growth and environmental stewardship can go hand in hand.
This initiative underscores Aboitiz Construction’s leadership in sustainability, following its recognition at the LIMA Locator Appreciation Night in March 2025, where it received a Sustainability Award for the Barangay Eco-Cycle Resource Facility Project in Brgy. Bagong Pook, Malvar, Batangas. The project involved the construction and turnover of a Material Recovery Facility in June 2024 to improve local waste management.
“Through partnerships like this, we aim to scale our impact and create shared value for business, communities, and the environment,” Ching added.
